I always loved lanterns. Really, I do. Especially the fact that it connects with my heritage and allathat on Tet Trung Thu (a.k.a the Moon Festival). So, for my Vietnamese School today, all the teacher assistants were required to make lanterns to participate and teach their students how to make it and allathat.

I originally was going with a much simpler plan, until my mom said I should create one FULLY OUT OF SCRATCH. So, I did. I paper-mached a balloon and let's just say: it was a whole bunch of stress and family fun put together. Stress = my mommy's head is fully of ideas, and sometimes, for the worse. She kept adding more and more ideas, while me and Daddy exchanged nervous glances and sighs. Oh well, whatever to keep the Majesty happy. & the fun part? We all sparkled. Glitter!
So, the lantern was supposed to be about the celebration of that holiday and had to have a "meaning" to it. When I came to school, here's the LOL part, some guy made a BATMAN lantern. Like, literally, it was about 3 feet tall and was in the cutout shape of Batman and it had the bat sign and everything. It looked more like a Halloween pinata, if you ask me, but he was pretty awesome to have made that in general. Pretty awesome, indeed. Too bad I didn't have my camera. Maybe I'll ask him for a picture. Maybe I'll take a picture next week.
Leave me comments! I get happy when praised; happier when you point out my flaws, so I can improve.
