When the going gets tough
- Overwhelmed by all the emotions. Not sure how to process everything. Breaks down and cries within minutes because the worst is a possibility.
- Get over yourself, Emily. You're better than this. Worrying does no good. Figure out how to solve this problem.
- Tries to get back on the horse and determined to fix whatever's broken.
- Can't concentrate because emotions still clouding judgment.
- Understands that the mourning period cannot be rushed because it is different for everybody. Just because you want to doesn't mean you can. Sometimes you have to just breathe.
- But what if in the time I need to breathe, circumstances worsen? Then it's my fault that I didn't recover fast enough.
- ...
And it goes on and on, sometimes repeating itself. Until I can't handle all the thoughts anymore and I cast everything aside and move on from the situation, never fully resolving how I feel.
Tenacity, in more ways than one.
